From House Wife To Film Maker

Okay so our iMac has been having a problem that is very puzzling. Every time I try to put her to sleep, she wakes right back up again with an error message telling me that I took a device out without properly ejecting it first. Well, I assure you I have always, “ejected properly” I’m scared half to life of this new wonderful tool/machine/toy/friend so so far I haven’t had the nerve to do anything outside of the bounds that I know are correct. But then, as I think about it, it may be possible that I stepped outside of a bound, without knowing I had, since I am so new to the world of Apple. . . Humm, have to keep that thought to myself when I am with the Genius tech guy at the Apple store anyway, since I think he already thinks I’m a bit off.

A little history on this problem: I called the Apple support line three different times. Spent so much time on the phone that if I had spoken to the same guy each time I would surely have a new person to call a friend. However we had no resolution so I finally packed our computer up and took her to the Genius Bar. Well guess what? She did not duplicate the problem. Yeah embarrassing. Especially since it’s ridiculously simple to duplicate. All one has to do is attempt to put her to sleep. Not too complicated to do or difficult to explain right? Wrong, because while she sat on Apple’s holy shrouded counter she stays asleep.

The Genius tech guy, who I am told is one of their best, kept looking at me all puzzled asking over and over, “What is it was doing?” and “What I do to make it happen?” I mean this one is pretty simple, I had no way of re-wording the problem no matter how much I searched for a different way to say it. I tried but really what was I left with? I even tried to duplicate it myself but no go. She would not do it.

So, since the problem seemingly disappeared I had no option but to bring her home. Well, guess what? I bring her home, plug her in, try to put her to sleep and she wakes right back up on her own and the error message pops up again, just like clock work. Blah!

Sooooo, I made another appointment, for Monday at 10:30 a.m. Please pray to the Mac/Apple god and leave offerings to him asking that my iMac does it’s little problem thing while in the store, please!
