Getting you more up to speed, a little more history. . .

Published by TheresaJane at 4:11 am under Uncategorized

Hello everyone :) Today and yesterday has been a great day! Started my blog yesterday, read about blogging, worked with John both days for like eight hours total editing footage we filmed on Thursday for a video we’re creating for a friend’s business–I’ll share it when it’s complete! The only disappointing thing today was after four hours of editing we had to stop :( because I had to go to work.

Since you may find it confusing that we are creating video for something different than our book trailer and documentary for the book Red Book and Cotton, I need to fill in some info. Last time, for the sake of space, I left out telling you that we will be doing other video’s, films, and documentaries, both now and after the work for Red Book And Cotton. However, our main focus will be the trailer and documentary till they are complete. Right now we are doing small projects so we can learn all we can as fast as we can so the trailer and doc. are the best they can be.

I also need to tell you that our journey into film making physically began in July. It’s just that it was this past week that I came around to realizing, “Hey, I finally had a topic to blog about!” LOL!

So, let me digress a little here to get you up to speed as to what we’ve done to date:
-Purchased an iMac. Not just any iMac. The proper iMac with the 24 inch screen and mega inner workings so it can perform editing and load the professional editing software
-Purchased the editing software: Final Cut Pro Suite and have been taking classes and working with it at home.
-Purchased a microphone
-Purchased lightening
-Purchased Final Draft-software for writing scripts
-So far we’ve created a fun video of John’s son’s wedding rehearsal and for our first shot it turned out great!
-We have the script for the book trailer completed and once we get the camera we’ll be hitting the road filming what we need.
-Have a professional sound guy/musician who owns a studio that is already working on the music for the trailer and documentary. He’ll have a demo next Wednesday!
-Met with a man who lives locally and has been doing commercials, documentaries, and feature films for years who is willing to assist us when we get a good bit of our book trailer and then documentay completed.

So there. I do believe you’re up to speed now. If I forgot something I’ll let you know.

More to come!!!!
Be looking for my name in the film credits! :)
Talk at you again soon,
Theresa
