Joomla, iWeb, filming, editing, meetings and children. . .
Whooo, wee. What a weekend!!! I think I caught site of myself moving in another direction. I have missed visiting with you and lamented it the whole time.
Friday: I woke, at 10:30 to “ding dong”. My eyes flew open and my body followed. I was in the bathroom dressing before you could say, “Crap.” I didn’t even need to look at the clock, I knew what that door bell was telling me: the children I watch on Friday were here (my “work” is nannying, and I love it. What can I say I’m good with kids. Would you have ever guessed?? LOL) and my alarm had not gone off. I had gone to bed around 3 and had planned on being up at 9, but that only works when an annoying buzzer goes off and off and off, thank God for snooze! I yanked on clothes that hung from my over the door hook, combed my hair and thanked the gods of hair that all I had to do was tuck one side behind my ear and it looked great–there are advantages to having this short hair that my stylist seemed to think I needed because, and I quote, “the dog days of summer were upon us.” Meanwhile the little ones are knock, knock, knocking and happily calling out, “Ms. Theresa . . .
Then I was at the door all smiles, looking totally like I had been awake for hours leisurely sipping tea and reading a book.
You know if it had been his wife that dropped them off that day I would have laughed the whole story out to her. But, it wasn’t so I went with the: pulling this whole faking awake thing off instead and thought I was doing just great till I heard my mouth, which must have not woke up yet, say, “Sorry for the delay, you caught me in the bathroom having a woman moment.” Right that’s exactly what I said. Oh God, sometimes. . .
Took them to the school to have lunch with Cal and Dan then when we left they surprised me by falling straight to sleep. So I figured it was a good time to do go to the bank, get my white, but turning a dim shade of grey, truck (I drive a Ford Explorer) washed. While in the car wash, with nothing better to do I read the little clear oil reminder sticker the on my windshield and saw, to my shock I was 2,000 miles over due. 2,000? No way. Double figured and yup, so I went straight to the garage and cringed when I gave over the sticker as requested, I thanked the heavens that this wasn’t my mechanic who works on the other side, whose forever very nicely saying, “Ms Sorenson it’s real important that you get that oil changed on time.”
Picked up the kids from school and did this incredible thing called: grocery shopping. I sort of had to since I wasn’t real sure what to make with just carrots. Could have made carrots and rice I suppose, if I shook the container just right enough rice might have fallen out.
Later John and I had this absolutely terrific meeting at Barnes and Nobel, one of my most favoritist places on the planet, with a guy that’s been in film for the local cable company for years. He’s going to help us learn about lighting and assist us in other ways. We are thankful and excited.
Later searched through something like 1,500 downloadable web page themes from a site called Joomla we want to get our web site running. We don’t know a thing about this either, but plunging right in anyways. Then looked around at the various places to have our site hosted and fiddled with iWeb.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. Dan’s soccer game. They won!!! The score was 4-1 and Dan, my son, scored three of the winning goals. Go Dan! Afterwards shopped for a BMX bike for his up-coming b-day and when I took him home he was gushing with plans for building ramps, something he knows nothing about, he’s a lot like me
and by Sunday he had his first one built.
Then off and : worked on the computer learning and doing all kinds of various things, later John and I began a fabulous video for introducing “Red Book and Cotton”, lastly worked on various social media things, and researched.
Sunday: 1) did various little business things, 2) 12:30 pick up Caleb, Grace, and Zac (Dan was building ramps with Brent) and went to see “UP” at the dollar theater. Loved the movie, Caleb laughed so much he made me laugh. Went back to my kids house and hung out with them and my other older children, worked on my farm on Farm Town, we all have a farm
3) Later John and I worked on the video till around 10, 4) other stuff, 5) finished off the evening visiting with you.
Phew, that’s about it, more later,
Theresa
