Filmed our 1st interview, chance meeting, web site creating, a little break, a new book . . .

What an awesome day. Today we filmed our first interview for the Red Book and Cotton documentary using our green screen. Learned about the on/off buttons for our wireless mics . . . the mics can’t both work if you filp the mute switch thinking you flipped the on switch, thank God for the mic on the camera! I think it’ll be fine though since we were so close to the one being interviewed and we were in our studio where it was quite.

Afterward John1 and I went to Blockbuster on the way home and struck up a conversation with a man that ended up breezily mentioning that he was a film maker. John1 stopped him and had him clarify. Low and behold he’s making and has made documentaries and other films. And he’s legit: looked his documentary up on Amazon and I’m ordering it tonight, well ordering it this morning actually since it’s 2:38 a.m. Not only that he knows a woman with a local TV news station that has her own spot and he’s going to hook us up with her, her spot is perfect for us. So exciting! If he follows through, and they’re interested, we’ll be watching John1 on TV talking about Red Book and Cotton, our new company, and what we’re about. :)

John2 worked today from 5 pm-1:30 am on the web site. He got the extension for the forum working about 8:30, then turned his attention to getting the photo area going. I came home and jumped in with as much help as I could offer. The biggest help I contributed was to say, “Forget messing around trying to get these free extensions working. I’m going to throw down the $40 and get the one I researched yesterday that everyone says was worth the money. It does everything I want and comes with phone support for six months, so if we have issues the solution is a phone call away.” Perfect decision, with little effort the area is working and we both love it. This does exactly what I wanted for the section that will contain pictures of the10 paintings that John created to accompany the Red Book and Cotton!!! Everything looks fantastic. Sooooo. . . the gap is closing on getting the web site launched. YES!

I on the other hand took a little time out with my Sarah to go to a movie. Went to see “All About Steve”. It was pretty good. Not one I would say, “You’ve just got to see.” But I’m still glad I went. At least I sat there and watched without referencing a computer the whole time like I did last night, although I had stated that I was just going to watch the movie. Now that movie was worth just doing nothing, so funny and I liked how they handled their theme. Very cool concept really, how they presented the dead interacting with the living.

Fell asleep reading a new book when I went to bed yesterday. One my long time friend Cathy told me about: “The War of Art”. Cathy is one of my dearest friends. We’ve been friends since I was pregnant with Blessing, her Brett is exactly 9 months younger than her. It’s amazing to believe that that many years have passed. Our friendship has gone through so many stages and phases! She is someone I can honestly say I love deeply and respect. She’s around 10 years older than me so she’s always been ahead of me on the whole wisdom thing which has been so helpful. And her skills and talents are amazing. She has her own blog where she discusses her art, it’s called Open the Red Door, Discovering your creative self.

So, anyways, I started this book at the last section, which I never do. When I get a book I start at page one and go forward till I read the last page. But this time I couldn’t resist starting at the last section because Cathy said she didn’t read it because it didn’t speak to her. Soooo, I had to find out why. The funny part of this is that Cathy is famous for reading the ending of a book, then reading the book. I’ve always cringed whenever she told me that she did it again . . . and, now I’m guilty of the same thing. Well, almost the same thing. But since it’s so close to being the same thing, and it’s totally new for me I think it counts. I mean, I started at the last section. So it does, right? Agree with me :)

That’s it for today.
Love ya,
Theresa
-watch for my name in the film credits
P.S. I like the third section of the book, between me and you I think she ought to give it a read . . . ;)
