Catching Up the last few days. . .
Well, I’m finally back. There’s been two reasons why you haven’t seen me for a couple days. 1) my internet, cable, and phone services have been intermittent and wonky and 2) I’ve needed an overall break from everything. I have the ability to go and go and go and go for several months, seven days a week, and then I just hit a platue and I need to stop.
After the Expo I needed to stop.
Like full throtle STOP.
The Expo went fairly well. We sold some things. But no one was banging it out there from what I saw and heard. It was really more about people browsing. John Solomon needed to leave the country suddenly to assist a family he works with out of country through his Naturopathic end of his skills and talents so that left me and John Mark to man the booth and Frances and I did his lecture. It was the first time I spoke into a mic, I was a bit tense about it but found out it wasn’t bad at all.
I did have one HUGE complaint about the Expo, they brought in a band that played so loud that even when I screamed into someone’s ear they couldn’t always hear me. Thankfully I went the night before to set up and the band was there practicing and they were every bit as loud. As a precautionary measure I went straight to Walmart and bought ear plugs. Honestly had I not had them I would have left. Our booth was so close to them I know it would have hurt my hearing and frankly I already hurt my hearing some in the “wild and reckless days” of my youth and I intend to hold on to what I have left.
Needless to say, by days end I was hoarse. I came home and dropped onto my couch wanting nothing more than to take advantage of my On Demand movies only to discover they were out of commission, as was pay for view, and to even view a thing on TV I had to hand enter the stations number. I don’t watch TV as a rule so that was a real pick and stab sort of thing. Finally I found an old Bonnie and Clyde movie that must not have played very long and I dropped into it. It was during this evening I decided that I needed a break. I have been going non-stop for the last few months breaking only for a few days for the holidays and even that required me to “get things done”, and of course non-stop for the last week pressing to get ready for the Expo, as well as keep up with what needed my attention with the business. So Sunday I stopped. Checked email, checked for messages here and that was it. Which was about all I could do anyway with the way my services have been acting up.
I sort of got into the saddle today, but it was with light, but necessary things that needed attention, went to work at 5:30, then to Wholefoods after, then home to do some work and get with you.
On my time off I watched the Amelia Earhart movie. And cried. Watched The Brother’s Bloom movie and cried. Watched Planet 51 at the Dollar theater and smiled broadly and laughed a lot. Experimented using confectionery sugar in whipping to put on the cheesecake slice I bought at The Cheesecake Factory to have as part of my celebration for all the work I’ve done lately… discovered I prefer regular sugar so I put that in too…my son Caleb has been with me throughout my days off and my daughter Blessing has been in and out a good bit. I’ve enjoyed my time, it’s been good. Tomorrow off to work in the morning and back in the saddle business and blog wise…
Night, Love Ya,

I am so happy to hear that you took a break. I was beginning to think you were Wonder Woman. I feel like such a slacker hearing how you run around and work or do something with the kids. I would think at so point you would have to just stop and take care of Theresa. It seems like you pack 48 hours into every 24 hour period. I hope that you can find a happy medium so you don’t burn out. You are amazing and just know I sit in awe of you.
I also think of you as a Wonder Woman. As far as time-management and organization alone, you must have “mad” skills from all those years of mothering.
I’ll look forward to reading more once you are finished ramping up.
