Don’t you just love some of the repair guys for internet, TV, and phone? . . .
Oh my gosh, I haven’t been able to be on-line for the last few days due to: my wiring going berserk for my internet, phone, and cable–bundle package. Here’s the history…
Tuesday, the bottom falls out of my services.
Wednesday Repair Guy #1 shows up, diagnoses the problem… need new wiring from the outside in–thank God I never cancelled the wire maintenance I had debated saving the money on that. This is a bigger problem then he has equipment to handle, someone needs to come… tomorrow.
Thursday, today, Repair Guy 2 shows up, upon opening the door I could tell this might not be good. He was so not excited about being here, it was, as my parents used to say, “Written all over his face”. And might I add, his body language exuded it as well. Ask him, “Did you speak with my manager about wiring this? There was a note on this job to that effect.”… “No? Okay well, please go over to the office and speak with her. She just wants to make sure you do something a certain way.”
Guy leaves.
Almost an hour passes.
Go outside, walk around looking for Repair Guy #2.
Return to apartment, call front office, sure enough he was in there and manager gave him the go ahead to do the repair.
Call Repair Guys office.
They try to assure me he’s on site somewhere as his report states that he is still there.
I try to assure them that he is nowhere in site. No guy, no truck. Insist they stay on the line with me till I get an answer. Tell them that this would be no surprise if he left, as three times before in the last four years I’ve had technicians show up, stand there and look at, but not touch, my equipment, say they needed to go to their truck, and disappear off into the day light without a trace or a word, so this time I want an answer.
45 minutes later…it seems he did indeed leave within the first 10 minutes of being here and his report states that my manager told him he couldn’t do the job. Support guy is now suddenly abrupt, and rude, and wants me off the phone.
“I need this rescheduled. What? I can’t reschedule, my manager has to? I can’t elevate this to a manager or supervisor?… This is the procedure. Unbelievable.”
Call manager, ask her to call.
Four hours later, she hasn’t reached anyone who will do anything.
I call. Lodge complaint. There will be a supervisor calling within 24 hours. That’s all 24 hours…
5 hours later supervisor calls, thankfully not 24, he will have someone out on Saturday, no he won’t send the same man again. Yes, I’ll get a letter from my manager giving permission for the work to be done.
So till Saturday I have no phone, no internet, and TV that’s there one minute, gone the next.
Lovely…
Otherwise, guess what have I been doing??? Working: my job and my business, and being with my kids, went to movies with Zach today: The Incredible Mr. Fox, at the Dollar theater and Legion, at full price theater during the super matinee special: 6 small bucks. It’s fun doing two movies in a row especially when I liked them both. Afterward home to address the son, who can’t wait to be old enough to shoulder a back pack and travel the world, about his 2 D’s and 1 F on his progress report. We’re being mean…of course. And if you knew how easy we went on the boy, he’s not even grounded…
Been digging into some technical things lately, which are things I don’t particularly enjoy. Many calls to Apple support. One tech woman I had to ask, “Have you ever had any experience with this issue or are you simply reading off a screen? Because I really need someone with experience, like I had earlier.”
Night, love ya,
Theresa Jane
